The Sir Jack Hayward Room is the Museum’s main function suite, featuring a dramatic arched window and a stunning collection of oil paintings, regimental silver and historic treasures, spanning over 200 years.
Two dinner packages are available:
Doornkop Dinner
The Battle of Doornkop took place during the Second Boer War (South Africa) at the end of the 19th Century and is one of the highlights in the Regiment’s history. Winston Churchill, a young journalist at the time, is reported to have seen the 1st Battalion in action and wrote: “There is no doubt that they are the finest Regiment in the world”.

Kandahar Dinner
In 1879 the 92nd marched 320 miles over some of Afghanistan’s harshest terrain from Kabul to Kandahar in just 23 days. Following this epic march, the 92nd Regiment defeated the Afghans in the Battle of Kandahar which effectively marked the end of the war.
